Mul and Snowbud are radical fo sho - but I would argue that they take on a personality on-line that is far stronger than in a real life meet.

If abortion is the right of the mother, isn't suicide the right of an individual? Why is suicide illegal then?

Using some of you guys famous logic, The doctor was the one who preformed the murder, so they are the one who should go to prison. The mother was pressured into it, told that this kid would ruin her life, she was used by the blah blah

Suicide is illegal because of some absurd reckoning of self murder. This is all between God and you. Why government is involved in suicide legalities is beyond me. Whom do you punish in a suicide? Do we send people who attempt suicide to jail?

I work in the medical field. I occasionally see women come in with multiple abortions. If this type of behavior can be curbed with penalties including possibly prison time, I don't see why they wouldn't be employed...Murderers see prison time, it is not the system that is guilty, it is the one who murders.

But I thought the woman was the victim. She was the one who had no power to decide. She was being forced to do what she did not want (have the kid). All in this scenario you paint. Isn't that what you told them before Roe v. Wade....

Ok, to try and change the direction from the emotional mudslinging...how about this legislation:

1). First trimester and second trimester abortions remain legal. Those under 18 must have parental consent unless there are extenuating circumstances (abusive parents, etc) in which case they can go to the abortion center and discuss their situation with a court appointed person who can give consent for the abortion.

2). Third trimester abortions are made illegal. Medical science has shown that a fetus can survive outside the womb at about 26-28 weeks. Therefore it is a viable lifeform and should be protected.

3). Extensive counseling must occur prior to all abortions explaining fully the options the woman has. These sessions would include time for pro-life and pro-choice advocates to present their viewpoints fairly. Probably would have to be some sort of government approved lecture series to avoid wackos on both sides going outside the lines.

You put your self in that position from this post. I really didn't want to read all pages and keep score of who said what, because reading snowman or mul on this issue is tiresome.

We all are responsible for the judicial process.

Real possibilities do not include making abortion illegal. It is illogical, contrary to conservative judicial process, and non-enforceable.

And we can both go back to work now.

Steve if by "self abortion" you mean things like hitting yourself in the stomach or having your boyfriend kick you in the stomach until the child dies that case has already happened and it was tried as a murder case.

Seems the question has already been answered.
