Any weather forecasters out there?

Why can't a weatherman ever just say it is going to rain?
I am sitting in central florida with Alberto spinning off the coast. They are prediciting 4-10" of rain for us over the next 48 hrs, which will probably do more good than harm.
BUT-- all the weather reports say 80% chance of rain. I found one brave soul that said 90% chance. It is raining right now, will be raining all day. Our forecasts are almost always between 40-80% chance of rain. When we were in a drought with no rain for 3 weeks, the chance went as low as 20%. I realize weather predictions are not perfect, but come on. Take a chance. Actually make a decision and tell us something. My weather report- it is going to rain today.

Good old Al Sleet gave the ultimate weather forecast and retired:

"The weather will continue to change...."

I'm not frustrated about the weatherman out here, but the weather itself. It's been F*** freezing out here! It got up to 65 yesterday, which is probably the hottest it's gotten this June. Most of the time it's been 55-60 IN JUNE!! Ahh! I hope the prediction for 80 is correct on Friday.

When the great yellow orb emerges, fear not. Your skin will return to its normal pallor shortly...

I heard this report years ago from some local weather channel and like to use it.

There is a 50/50 chance of rain in your area depending on where you are.

Just like politicians, they can't give you a straight answer.

My prediction - Forecast for the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex:

Highs in the upper 90s, nighttime lows in the mid to upper 80's. No chance of precipitation in the foreseeable future. This trend will continue till the end of June leading into July.

Temperatures in July through August will be 100+ for 45 straight days. Precipitation will be limited to scant showers until September.

If you are cold, come to Phoenix for a few days. It will be above 100 until the second week in Sept, then finally come down a bit. Monsoons in July/August and some rain and wind then hot again.

From Sept to June its paradise. Do not even think of moving here, we have enough people from SoCal already...

Seattle/Tacoma Weather Report:

Partially cloudy with a few possible sun breaks. Chance of rain turning to partial showers. Later, sunny with broken clouds with a chance of showers, possible rain with sunbreaks likely.

Repeat over and over from March through October then it changes to well, you know.
