i washed a work jacket yesterday. i left a paper box of utility knife blades in a breast pocket. first time in my life, i did laundry with leather work gloves on. i am a total fool. the box obliterated into a million tiny pieces too.

My buddy left a Mickey Mantle rookie card in his pocket. 10K down the drain

Apart from the various pens and whatnot, one time I accidently poured trans fluid in to the machine instead of laundry soap...

my wife washed her cell phone. Took it apart, dried it out for a day, charged the battery, and it works as good as new!

I'll never forget our daughter's brown crayon...it made it through the wash just fine. Ahhh, but the dryer heat melted it. Ever tried to remove brown crayon spots?

a pearl handled antique cattaraugus whittler.didn't even know it was missing for 3 days. spent 3 more days looking everywhere for it . finally gave up and assumed it was gone forever. found by the laundromat lady up in the lint filter two weeks after i gave up looking for it. the good news other than having it back is that it was not rusty or damaged. i now always double check my pockets before washing.

my passport

LOL, I did this yesterday. I left a ThermoShred caffiene pill in my pocket. Turn the front of my slacks black & purple and crusted the whole inside of the pocket. Pants are ruined.

Ruined 3 pairs of my jeans this way. I owned 3 pairs of jeans at that time and had no jeans to wear. I had to go to the store and buy some more.

A lot of clothing got ruined in that fiasco. I feel your pain.

I put $3 into the wash once, but it came out fine. A few years back, I jumped into our pool with our Audi keys/immobilizer in my pocket... thankfully we had an extra set!

My ex-wife washed my favorite wool sweather and then dried it in the dryer. He daughter got to wear it after that.

I've run a lot of money, but recently it's ammuniton.

I did the same a few months ago. The phone was on and shorted out. It never worked again.
