I can't speak to Washington state (assuming that's the land of tinfoil hats of which you made mention), but the Iraq invasion and attempted occupation by the US government is recognized as illegal by just about anyone who has studied the law in more than a cursory way. I hesitate to judge another man until I have something concrete with which to judge him, and that is difficult to do, especially in poltics, since all politics is emotion and no logic. Propaganda is the name of the game, whether it is currently referred to as "spin" or not.

Perhaps it is relevant that judgement be left to the Creator. I am not equipped to pass judgement.

When someone finally wakes up and realizes the world is more complex than they currently imagine, it will be a true epihany. And, it happens, sooner or later.

My original response was a bit too severe, and rethinking it, I did not want to accused of being "judgemental". Mul, You are welcome to your opinions, even when you post them as fact and then show umbrage when someone disagrees.

Steps to "successful" posting:

1. Post something totally controversial

2. Attack anyone that questions your conclusions

3. Show indignation and claim the high moral ground

4. Label those who disagree

5. Do not address the questions of others directly or ignore them altogether if they are inconvenienty pointed or relevant

6. Repeat as necessary

Whether Murtha is nuts or not, he has the same right to express his views as we do. The difference is he has a much larger audience, and our opinions are a poor subsitute for his lifetime of experience.

Ask yourself: Have you been able to change anyone's mind on anything of relevance posted here? If not?t, Why not?

I don' t know John Murtha's positions on anything else, and it's unlikly that I'd vote for him if I lived in his district, I don't vote for Republicans or Democrats; however, it's clear from any honest appraisal of the invasion and attempted occupation of Iraq that it was illegal, and that the Haditha Massacre was perpetrated by the US Marine Corps. That cannot be disputed. Since, to my knowledge, Murtha hasn't named individual Marines so far, you cannot say legitimately that he has prejudged anyone. I should point out, that a number of Marine Corps officers have been relieved of their respective commands as a result of this investigation, indicating at least lack of command judgement on their part, or scapegoating from above, or both.

Need I also add that many of the incriminating photographs taken at Haditha were taken by another Marine unit that came upon the scene after the Massacre?
And that unit's personnel are testifying as to what they found? And that it was a crime scene when they arrived?

You believe the BS hook, line and sinker don't you? Tell us your sources for all this 'factual' information.
