Came out really well. Here it is all ready to drop in: ![]() And a little german love: ![]() I'm should be getting a set of solid motor mounts in the next day or 2. For now I'm going to use new rubber mounts. This weekend I'll be mounting the accesories, EDIS system, and start with the MegaSquirt wiring. Flywheel is off for lighting today hopefully. |

Yes sir re bob. Think about going with a Holset HX50.
The engine management will be handled by MegaSquirt for fuel and spark. I am install a EDIS-6 system. On a bad note, the engine was knocked off the stand last night. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by TerryBPP; 06-07-2006 at 03:38 AM.. |

Nice project
My brother did this a few years ago 89 e30 with a 3.5 stock 8.5 compression perfect for a turbo... later he put a Turbo on it . Car was very fun until he wrecked it . Car did not like high speed highway driving at all in the rain. Know he is building a 76 2002 with a turbo M20 and he is also using a holset. |

Sorry about the drop dude.
Keep us posted on your progress it sounds like your well on your way now. A lot of Rotary guys are using Corvette ignitions when switching to stand alone. The ignitor and coil are intigrated and compact.

![]() I think the GM system is similar setup to the Ford EDIS system I'm using. Basic wasetd spark system. Yep john, its virtually the same as the 745i turbo motor except it doesn't have oil squiters in the block. |

I FINALLY got that bad boy in there. No major issues with the drop. There are 2 positions (holes) on the e30de motor mounts I'm using. One moves the motor 1" forward and vice versa. Ended up using the most reward position because I could fit a radiator in there.
The only other clearance issues are with the VR sensor for the EDIS system. It barely touches the radiator. Looks like I need to make a 3rd bracket, lol. Or atleast modify the one I just made. Here are the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The crank position sensor from a M30B35 engine (1989-1992) wouldn't fit, or function correctly? I have one that I could photograph for you tomorrow if need be.
I just remembered, I have this photo of the crank position sensor: ![]() Note that the toothed portion of the crank pulley is behind the pulleys. Last edited by fastpat; 06-12-2006 at 03:53 PM.. |

Supposesdly there are issues with MegaSquirt using a 60-1 wheel. I haven't seen one running correctly but have heard stories which add up to nada. So it was eaiser to just weld the wheel on and go.
