Congratulations A.J.

For those of you that missed it, AJ Allmendinger won his first Champ Car race yesterday. This comes one week after being fired by Rusport and then hired by Forsythe. It's good to see an American (a karter at that) win again in Champ Cars.

Saw that - awesome!

They needed a seven second delay on the pit radio as he got the checkered...:D

I caught that too. You'd think they would have learned that by now.

How about that new fiancee!!!

Can you believe it? I mean, a race car driver with a drop dead gorgeous girlfriend, fiancee, or wife? I've never seen that before! Darned fun race to watch. It makes it more fun when the race is on a track you've driven. A darned clean race too...no yellow flags. I liked that.

I think every car finished, too. That's pretty rare.

Is this guy amazing or what? Two wins in a row. Finally we have an American that can give the Europeans a run for the money.

Oh yeh, Scott Speed didn't look too bad this weekend either.

pwd72s 06-26-2006 09:19 AM

This kid puts on a driving clinic....lap after lap, the best line without a bobble. We can't compliment this race for it's lack of yellows though, can we?

I was out of town and missed today's race. And I forgot to DVR it.

Oh well, looks like the kids on a roll.

Congrat's again AJ!!!!!!!!

He's gone from no wins to three in row.

Yea...these Champ car races make me wonder why I bother watching F1. That was a great race...expected PT to do something dramatic at the end. Edmonton's next. Hope it doesn't snow.

Agreed, Jeremy...I mean Gosh oh golly, these guys dare to try moves seldom seen in F-1. I think it's called "overtaking and passing".

Porsche-O-Phile 07-09-2006 04:29 PM

Hat Trick!

pwd72s 07-09-2006 05:03 PM

I think it may have more to do with the car's. Ever looked into the different rules between the two?

pwd72s 07-09-2006 05:33 PM

Yep! F-1 follows the golden rule...the team with the most gold rules. The rest play catch-up. Pretty boring...(edit) I mean, if Bill Gates wanted to win the F-1 championship??? Probably, in a few years of learning curve, he could do that. Easily. He certainly knows how to hire engineering and management talent, and has the $$$ to do so. F-1 is an exercise in elitism these days. Boring to watch, because barring driver error or mechanical breakdown, the winner is determined by the 5th lap.
