Silverado Resort, Napa...anyone been there?

Anyone been there? I am going for a Home Depot golf benefit in August and would love any input about the area or resort.
Thanks, Christian.

The Napa valley is magnificent. Not to be missed. Great golf courses.
The Silverado was getting a little old and tired, but I believe is has undergone a major renovation. The restaurants in the area are fantastic!

Send money, I will check it out for you...

If you get a chance check out Calistoga just up the road a little bit, they have a bunch of spas with natural hot springs you can soak in.

and the wine... oh the wine... please don't tell me you don't like wine

If you are driving, go up the Oakville Grade, near Mondavi, and something used to be Vichon, beautiful road, nice views, watch for poison oak(Leaves of three, leave it be)

I highly recommend Domaine Chandon for lunch, pity it is too hot to sit outside.

I like finding the little hole in the wall winery's...
Some of the best Zin I have had was poured by a couple of guys in blue jeans out in the barn while they threw the ball for the dog.

What is the name of the winery that has the cable sky cars that you ride up to the top of the hill to the tasting room? Great view from there and the made a darn nice Cab too.

I've stayed there not to play golf but for a company event. Had a suite on the second floor with a great view. The lodging rate was very high, even with the corporate discount. Great grounds, nice gym, I heard the golf was very good. But, if I had to pay for my stay, I'd have gone elsewhere. Oh yeah, no high speed internet access so it sucked as far as getting any work done.

Check to see if Del Dotto Winery is still right near there. Their tour is different in that if focuses on cooperage. You will often taste one Reserve Cab in four or five different barrels to see the imapct of the oak. They taste several wines, several ways, so be prepared
