Came home (rehabing house in the country) late last night after being away for several days and noticed an odd odor. I thought it must have been something in a trashcan......but NO! Yuck!
An old pillowcase and wire from a heatgun are in the pic. Take note as the feces is actually under the heatgun's power cord. This makes me believe that the animal was under the wire; i.e. a serpent. (?)

Any ideas?

Snake, lizard..

Freybird 06-24-2006 09:28 PM

I didn't consider a lizard! (armed with my flash light I check the shower again.)

At least it left a tip to help with the cost of clean-up. :)

Rabid wolverine.

Freybird 06-24-2006 10:12 PM

Sorry harddrive. It makes me sick to look at it too. The odor was really foul as well. It appeared to be combinitorial......both solid and liquid waste, like a bird.

slodave 06-24-2006 10:24 PM

My chameleon makes a similar mess. I doubt you have one in your home, but there are lizards that make the same type.

The only way you will know for sure is if you taste it...Once you have tasted it let me know and I will render a final assessment.

Not cat scat.

williecoyote 06-25-2006 05:10 AM

d@mned seagulls.....

It looks like bird poop to me. Notice the ring around it where some of the moisture has absorbed into the cushion.

Do you have any bats?

I believe you've got it.

Come to think of it I did see some odd feathers around : ) But seriously, it tasted very bitter!

fastpat 06-25-2006 07:00 AM

With a fish aftertaste? Sorta like {|}?

Freybird 06-25-2006 07:28 AM

LOL! Yeah fast, like bad, salt water, polyester bikini {|}

Drdogface 06-25-2006 07:35 AM

The dry whitish part looks like bird or reptile but the long black turd more like carnivor... FWIW ;-)

JFK713 06-25-2006 07:50 AM

You are correct, I work with them Mon-Fri, definitely a snake.

Freybird 06-25-2006 08:09 AM

Thanks JFK! Can you tell just how large this snake would be?
BTW No bones or fur were visible in the feces.

Did you swish it around for a while in your mouth?...To really know you must do this. You just wanna be real sure, cause it could be poisonous if it is a snake. I am thinking it is a bird. Definitely double-check.
