Lets be safe out there this holiday everyone!

Just made a 750 mile drive today and am sitting in Amarillo Tx, with another 600 or so in front of me tomorrow. Trying to make it for my high school reunion this weekend and needed to get out and drive for a while.

What I wanted to say in this post was that the cops and Hiway Patrol are out in force in every state I have driven through so far. At least one officer with a radar gun every 50-100 miles and they are looking for speeders.

My Valentine One saved my rear everytime and its worth its weight in gold, but considering that I run 5-7 mph over the limit doubt that they would pull me over anyway. Every car that I did see that had been stopped on our side had passed me going at least 15-25 mph over the limit.

Keep your head on a swivel and radar detector turned on if you are making any long drives this holiday weekend! Hope everyone has a good time!

Joe A

PS they better not cancel the Indy Formula One race this Sunday. Am still pissed at Michelin over that one...

That's why I'm staying in my backyard in front of the grill with the beer this weekend.

(And it looks like I will FINALLY get my 951 out this weekend.)

Am in Las Vegas and NYC this weekend. Will be 400MPH over the posted limit at all times. The radar will be monitored, and the head is always on a swivel.

Happy 4th everyone!

Hee hee, yo haven't been to my neighborhood...

Seriously, last year we set up on the roof of my friends apartments (they have a patio up there) across the street from the beach where they was going to be a professional fireworks display. When the block party behind the apartment started setting stuff off it was hard to know which way to look.

Happy 4th

My sister is coming up from South Carolina...the fireworks she brings would make Mary Boykin Miller Chesnut (ask Fastpat) blush.

All the best, Squids and Rustpickers.

Only if you soak your flag in black powder before you burn it.

Happy 4th everybody. Going to an Omaha Royals baseball game. They suck, but there's a great fireworks show after.

Update:
Called my friend with the apartment that has the patio on the roof across from the beach... okay it is across from Ft. MacArthur which overlooks the beach where they blow off the professional fireworks AND I managed to weasel a invite for 4th of July.

So my fireworks will be FREE! Neener neener

Thanks to the local rotary club that funds the display.

Well, I agreed to bring the kielbasa... and I'm going to bring food too! (had to say it before one of you did) so it will not be completely free. But geeze last time I went to the reservation outside Las Vegas and bought unsafe and insane fireworks I dropped like $200!

Now I will just need to find a parking spot where my car will not be set aflame.
