What's a commute? You mean when I cross the road on foot to pick up a newspaper or the mail? Damn! Retirement life is a (female dog)...Traffic? Lemme tell ya about the traffic! Gary Hull drove by a few minutes ago...irrigation pipe loaded on his truck. Looks like he'll have a good sweet corn crop this year. ;)

Depends on which location, but currently about 28 miles one way and takes 30-35 mins depending on time of day. Mostly beltway/freeway driving.

Looking to change that. I'd love to roll out of bed and walk to my office. Hopefully sometime in the next 18 months.

It's 9 miles from the front door of my house to the parking lot at work (Wyandotte to Dearborn, MI).

austin552 07-08-2006 06:49 PM

4.5 miles/ 10 mins.

ben parrish 07-08-2006 06:54 PM

200 yards. 1-30 minutes depending on if I stop by the beach or not.

FrayAdjacent911 07-08-2006 07:07 PM

2.1 miles one way. If I don't run around too much extraniously, I can get by for a couple or three weeks on a tank of gas.

good stuff guys, keep it coming :)

wheatdog 07-08-2006 08:36 PM

60 miles one way. Takes 45min to 3.5hrs depending on traffic stupidity. The 45 minute run is at 3 AM in the P-car when the interstate is virtually deserted. My own little Gran Prix of New Orleans. Makes it fun going to work.

About 30 feet straight down two flights of stairs. :D

rattlsnak 07-08-2006 08:41 PM

35 miles, normally @ 1:15 going, and 1:45 coming home on a GOOD day.

lowyder993s 07-08-2006 09:36 PM

36 miles door to door. 35 min @ 5:30 a.m.
During Daylight Saving Time ride my Klein back home. 2 hrs 10 min, thru downtown San Diego, Up to Torrey Pines, then the 101 home checking the surf, watching the suckas on 5. But it's wearing on the old bod.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1152423363.jpg

JavaBrewer 07-08-2006 09:41 PM

32 miles 2 x day. Car is 45-90 minutes each way where the bike is 40 minutes tops no matter what the traffic is (lane split).

Singpilot,

You going to be in Vegas early next week? May be there Mon/Wed or so...

jyl 07-09-2006 06:15 AM

About 4 miles, 7 minutes by car. But lately am doing by bicycle, so zero gas/parking cost and 14 minutes. If rain is too much later in the year, I'll get a scooter to keep gas/parking close to zero. The poor 911 isn't getting driven much lately. This is in Portland.

In SF Bay Area, was about 40 minutes, 5 by car and 35 by BART (subway).

Hetmann 07-09-2006 06:21 AM

3 miles down a side street. 15 minutes door to door.

Rick V 07-09-2006 06:52 AM

70 miles round trip. About an hour a day, depending wether I take the back roads or if I go through town. I forget what town looks like. Living in the country has it's advantages, even a trip to the fod store is a "fun-run"!

Sorry, in Athens and Santorini all next week. NYC the week after that. I try to stay out of Vegas this time of year.

PorscheGuy79 07-09-2006 07:48 AM

4 hours round trip, 3 days a week. (This is to my school, downtown)

25min in the car

1hour 20min on the train

15min walk

repeat.

Can you see why I decided to move?

DavidI 07-09-2006 11:23 AM

About 40 miles each way into South Central LA and 1 hour in time. I could transfer to a closer station, but I prefer the action.

David
