Anyone here ever sold a car on E-Bay?
Getting ready to post up my Bugeye Sprite. Have lots of pictures and a good narrative. I know not to take checks from anyone from Nigeria. Any other tips? Should I do a reserve or just roll the dice and hope I get what I think the car is worth?

I've sold a car, tow truck (for a friend) and a motorcycle. All went remarkably well.
My advice is to: - Make it clear you won't accept bids from people with either negative or 0 feedback. (or at least ask them to contact you beforehand) I believe you can opt to block these bidders automatically. - For larger purchases some opt for some type of communication prior to accepting a bid. I find this may discourage potential buyers. - I usually prefer a local sale and encourage an in-person inspection so everyone is on the same page - A footnote stating that you won't entertain 3rd party checks, unknown escrow companies, foreign buyers (if possible-also a setting to achieve this). I usually state COD (preffered) or Certified check form a US base institution (subject to verification) That said all my transactions have been cash. Also, I'm typically reluctant to do Reserve auctions. I almost always set the price at the very least I'll accept on the item. BTW, have you considered Craigslist? Alot of losers there too but it's free and local.

sold a 930 last year to someone in Sweden. the process went very well. if you use paypal, you might consider charging for the additional fees. just make sure you have payment before letting anything go

Kurt, thanks for the email...sanity returns, since I'd have to build a garage to keep it in. But boy, do I have a soft spot for Bugeye Sprites. I've passed your mail on to friends who might be interested... yours seems to have the right stuff. I really wish I had the room. Damn, they are a GAS to drive! A drag racer they aren't, but handling??? In spades!
