Enron witness found dead in park

A body found in north-east London has been identified as that of a banker who was questioned by the FBI about the Enron fraud case.

Police said they were treating the death in Chingford of Neil Coulbeck, who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland until 2004, as "unexplained".

He had been interviewed by the FBI as a potential witness.

Three ex-workers of RBS subsidiary NatWest are being extradited to the US on Thursday to face fraud charges.

The extradition has sparked a political row, with opposition parties and human rights groups claiming the treaty under which they are being sent to the US is one-sided as the Americans are yet to ratify it.

That was a supremely uninformative article. Does not state his age, and unexplained is a pretty vague way to characterize a murder, if indeed that is what we have here.

In other news, Mul reports that he very much enjoyed his lovely trip to England :)

dude, pretty harsh. Maybe you should get over there and kick some Bobby butt to get them working harder on the case. Or would you prefer they just made up information?

Actually, I think that they wrote a very different article, then were forced to pull it. And this goes all the way up to the president, man!

Pardon me while I adjust my tinfoil...

Leave him, Todd. He's got news man genes, you know, so he must know WTF is news and not news...

I know funny and that is funny.

Sorry man, that article just did not "say" anything. I felt more uninformed after I read it

artplumber 07-12-2006 12:22 PM

Maybe he was old enough for a "coronary" too..... Seriously.

nostatic 07-12-2006 12:32 PM

I don't doubt this is a non-story. Just adding fuel to the fire.

And Tobra, I feel my iq dropping every day after reading most of the posts in here...especially mine :p

artplumber 07-12-2006 12:54 PM

Well some of us know that you know, but others don't know what we know.....

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:17 PM

whaaa?

Good news everyone! Oh, yes, madness runs in our family. Some people even called ME mad? And why? Because I dared to dream of creating a race of atomic monsters... atomic supermen with octagonal bodies that suck blood...

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:18 PM

Sure, everyone's always in favor of saving Hitler's brain, but put it in the body of a great white shark... oooooh, suddenly you've gone too far!

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:20 PM

Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mister I'm-My-Own-Grandpa. Let's get the hell out of here! Screw history!

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:21 PM

Not a moment too soon. While you were away, the Globetotters held a press conference to announce I was a jive sucka'!

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:22 PM

Yes, we all miss our loved ones and gasses...

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:23 PM

We tore the universe a new space-hole, all right, and now it's clenching shut.

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:24 PM

I don't have time for this! I have to buy a single piece of fruit with a coupon and then return it, making everyone behind me wait in line.

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:24 PM

Oh sure, break the SMART guy's machine

rouxroux 07-12-2006 01:25 PM

Someone must have taken a page out of the Vince Foster playbook, eh?

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:27 PM

BlueSkyJaunte 07-12-2006 01:28 PM

You see, that fossil was made of dolomite, the tough black mineral that wont cop out when there's heat all around. By contrast, observe the lava's effect on this ice swan. Of course, that would have melted at room temperature; I just wanted to get rid of it. But had it been made of that righteous mineral dolomite, theres a slim chance it may have survived.

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:33 PM

Hmm...I have to invent something in the next ten minutes. Perhaps some sort of Death Clock!

nostatic 07-12-2006 01:33 PM

Bring it on Santa! That bloodthirsty cadaver junkie can't touch us as long as we're not stupid enough to leave this building!

In a related matter, You'll be delivering this sack of children's letters directly to Santa at his death fortress on Neptune!

Porsche-O-Phile 07-12-2006 01:35 PM

Follow the money trail. . .

Wherever Lay, Skilling, et al put their $$$ over the last five years, you'll find dead bodies or a wall of silence or corruption - rest assured.

Owain 07-12-2006 01:37 PM

Actually, she wasn't really my girlfriend, she just lived nextdoor and never closed her curtains.

Mr Beau 07-12-2006 03:23 PM

Bre-x anyone?

pwd72s 07-12-2006 03:27 PM

Does Wayne have one of those contests going? Who will make the billionth post, something like that?

Tobra 07-12-2006 03:48 PM

No, he was just stuck in a Futurama loop, I feel funnier after reading them, hmm
