I like Rush's version:
"Theres no bread, let them eat cake Theres no end to what theyll take Flaunt the fruits of noble birth Wash the salt into the earth But theyre marching to bastille day la guillotine will claim Her bloody prize free the dungeons of the innocent the king Will kneel, and let his kingdom rise Bloodstained velvet, dirty lace Naked fear on every face See them bow their heads to die As we would bow as they rode by And were marching to bastille day la guillotine will claim Her bloody prize sing, o choirs of cacophony the king has Kneeled, to let his kingdom rise Lessons taught but never learned All around us anger burns Guide the future by the past Long ago the mould was cast For they marched up to bastille day la guillotine -- claimed Her bloody prize hear the echoes of the centuries power isnt All that money buys"

For the anti french guys. An American, Flyod Landis, took the overall lead from a Frenchmen yesterday in the Tour De France. It is somewhat of a pride of France thing to have the leader of the tour be French on bastille day.

I was kidding about the surrender monkey thing, a Simpsons thing
I personally prefer California wines to French, not a political thing, just my preference. Been a while since a Frenchman won Le Tour, what, Hinault maybe was the last one, right before Greg Lemond won it I believe

I got thrown through a plate glass window at a Bastille Day party in Dallas, Texas, many years ago. Contrary to what you see in the movies, rather than getting up and chasing the bad guys, I spent the next 2 days in the hospital. Not my favorite holiday
