Supposedly the story is this guys family has sold AMCs for a long time. When they merged with renault, they stopped. This place is still open and he deals mainly in parts and whole cars now--located in pineville or pikeville NC. So, I guess these are all for sale.

Eric,

You hang out at a Buick BBS? Oh the shame!

As a Hyundai owner I guess I shouldn't talk

Probably about a $100K in Javelins in there.

Actually a Full-Size Jeep board, and someone linked it from the Buick board

We had a junk yard that looked like it got stuck in a "time warp" just a few miles from me -- lots of cars from the 50's and 60's. I guess an old man owned it. I don't know the whole story, but believe he died and the heirs just scrapped everything to get the property (which was worth a lot of money) sold quickly.

When I saw them crushing cars with a front-end loader I tried to contact the owners through the real estate agent and tell them they were throwing out tens of thousands of dollars worth of cars, but nobody cared. When I was I talking to the guy operating the loader working for the scrap company he said he was trying to tell people the cars had more value than scrap, but no one seemed to care.

If I had more free time (and free capital) I would have tried to make an offer to buy everything and sell it at a big auction. It was a shame to see such waste.
