Household hazmat disposal?

Went through the garage again tonight throwing things away as my 911 restoration nears an end and I prepare to refinish the garage. I accumulated quite a box of nasty stuff, including:

-Half a gallon of dirty muriatic acid from a gas tank restoration
-A dozen half-empty spray paint cans
-Half a can of old brake fluid
-Dirty paint thinner
-A damaged and 99% full bottle of MAPP gas
-Antifreeze

There's no way I can just toss this stuff in the garbage can. Any ideas where I can take this stuff? The MAPP canister is of particular concern.

Call Raleigh City Hall. I'm sure they'd have some ideas...

Let the dolphins and surfers deal with it.

Here in Monmouth County NJ. there have a Household Hazardous waste facility. You have to make an appointment to bring stuff there. They are only open from Tue to Fri. from 8:30 to 4:00, and you usually have to wait two months to get an appointment.

And they wonder why people toss stuff down the sewer?

I checked the City of Raleigh web site, sure enough they have two central disposal locations.

Each is open for 8 hours, one Saturday each month.

F'ing great.
