Need Computer help
I have been using my computer at work, up until now, with no real login name accept the one it came with "Administrator".
Since I was going to be out of the office for a month and another employee needs to access some software on my PC I decided to make a user name for him so I do not have to erase all my CC info and reset my passwords etc.. I am using Windows XP Pro. It would not let me make a simple user until I made an administrator. So I did I called it Jim. Then I made the other user for my co worker. Well now I am locked out of all my own files and there is no user "Administrator" anymore. Is there a way to undo this? Or grant myself access to the files I locked when I was logged in as "Administrator"? Thanks for your help in advance. |
Hey Jim, try pressing ctrl-alt-delete twice at the welcome screen. This should should allow you to login as administrator.
edit: to carify press ctrl-alt-del-del |
Were you able to log in?

if not find a copy of CIA commander and use it to reset the admin password
|
I was in the office yesterday and it keeps telling my I have the wrong password. I know for sure the password I used.
What is the CIA commander? I found my disks that came with the computer I was just going to reinstall and reset everything. |
There probably is no administrator password. At the login screen type administrator as the username but leave the password field blank.
