His brother must live near me. I saw a bike hit a car headon this afternoon. the car was where it should be the bike was over the line, way over.

I thought the second guy was gonna follow the first guy. I wonder if he knows there is video showing him passing over a double yellow line at a high rate of speed?

This wasn't an issue with the Harley not being agile enough. This guy didn't even bother to steer back into his lane. He just goes straight for the other side of the road. My guess is that the lead rider doesn't understand the concept of counter steering, and tried to do exactly the wrong thing.
Dope. Learn how to ride.

yep, lean a bit, push opposite bar. Looks like he was pretty heavy on the rear brake as well...I think i see the rear end braking off to the left right before Mr. Toad's wild ride...What a dumbass.

I'm only a few miles from there as we speak. I think I'll cruise on over and give him a hand.
Procon I'll give you a shout while I'm here. Will

Ok, obviously the Harley rider was at fault, but am I the only one who things the RV driver should have stopped to make sure he was OK? Above all else, wouldn't you want to make sure the guy wasn't dead or seriously injured?
I dunno, maybe it's too easy to make a knee-jerk judgement on a 30 second video. Maybe the guy was off camera, standing up and seemed fine after the accident.

Looked like he had plenty of his "buddies" there. Although I sure would let the local gendarmes know I had a video they might wish to review...I'm so tired of "Low-hour RUBBIES" thinking they own the road. Oh, the humanity...

It sounded like the driver was scared the bikers would kick his a$$.
It did seem like there were enough people stopping to help out, but if the rider was really busted up, the truck might be able to get the rider to a hospital quicker than waiting for a "meat wagon" way out here.

I agree with the camera man. What a f#@%*&g idiot. Why would he do that? I think it is funny that the jerk off ran off the road. Got what he deserved by passing there. Thank god another biker wasn't coming in the other lane. I get tired of these dweebs buying a bike or car and thinking they are able to handle the curves like a pro. Hope he got hurt enough to help him and his friends never forget.

Also, early on in the video listen to the oncoming rider. He waited until the vehicle had passed the other direction before "rolling on" (I'm sure he could have carried way more into that turn with no problem, but seemed to have his head together), but then "Bubba Don Biker" yearns for the open road. I'll repeat myself...dumbass.

Major dumb A$$ decision to pass there. And then it was nothing more than target fixation and not enough skills, discipline, and experience to get their head/eyes through the corner and throw the bike back on line.
That said, it's not that easy to NOT watch a crash unfolding before you. This afternoon we had a lowside and the bike and rider were sliding away to the outside and the bike spun just so..... I think the rear wheel hit the rumble strip and launched it back onto the racing line. Sometimes luck and brakes come in handy. |
