Nostatic, I applaud your attempt to bring civility back to PPOT! I like the idea of an 'anything goes'/cesspool subforum where bs threads could be moved when they get out of hand. Would it be possible to set it up so a thread is 'voted' to the cesspool? After a specified threshold of 'move it' votes are accumulated, the thread moves, no one is censured, banned, etc. and the rest of us 'normal' people (you know, the ones with less than a few thousand political posts each year...either side) can carry on more or less the way it used to be. Good luck!

I'm actually not a fan of the sub-forum (more work for Wayne), but I did just get an idea...any thread that gets out of hand just gets merged with this one. That way all the bile is in one big long thread. The thread of e v i l.

There is some forum I was reading once with a place like this. I don't recall the title, but the description was "If your thread ended up here, somthing went dreadfully wrong". You could search and read, but not add to the threads. They were sort of preserved under glass, like a butterfly or a nasty scorpion.

Folks - we all need to take PPOT less seriously. It is summer - go out and drive your car for a change. There are no major elections happening in the fall - save the political banter for next year.
