I've been having problems with my gmail account for the last two days... It keeps locking up, and LOSING messages... I have had to go to my backup account where I am forwarding all of my emails.

Anyone else having problems? Right now gmail is so unrealiable, I am considering giving up on it for good.

I've been using gmail almost since it's inception (I received a beta version invite from an original google employee) and have never had an issue whatsoever. I personally really like it, but to each his own....if anyone wants to check it out (the price is right ) PM me (with an email addy to send the invite to) as others have done...

Other than space what are the benefits?

I do notice alot of scammers use GMAIL...not that they don't use other services. The Gamil ones seem to stick out more.

they read all your emails. automatically of course, but creepy nonetheless. I use it as a "throwaway" account.

The Dragonware suite & its predecessors deployed by the FBI has been scanning all our email since the mid 90's anyway, not really concerned about Google scanning email for keywords to market with.

I have been using gmail since nearly the beginning also and haven't had any problems. I think I have some invites available still too.

Its google's{@gmail.com} email system. Its still in Beta test I believe.
