PVC pipe - tapped with a barbed fitting and connected to a propane cylinder. To ignite we used a Coleman lantern igniter. We knocked down quite a few people. Amazing we didn't do too much damage.
Oh for roman candles we soaked our shirts down so we didn't burn. BB guns limited to 2 pumps but most of us carried CO2 guns incase we needed rapid fire or wanted to retaliate for a 2+ pumper

Forts, BB gun & bottle rocket wars, man those were the days!! We too fought with roman candles, what you call sput guns, at that time we called them cannons , back when cokes came in steel cans with both ends cut out , duck taped together and rhe one on the end (where you lit) had a ice pick hole on the bottom, in the center, the other end had oles poked through it, fill it with lighter fluid, light it & thump with a nice flame :D
Of course, my buddy Tracy, built this monster a few years back, and we have a blast with it, much better than what we built as kids:cool: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1155168145.jpg
