Question re: ATM vs Frame for DSL
Hey, I've had DSL since way back in the 20th century. That put me on the Frame circuit relay which has limitations for higher speed. I'm close enough to the CO to get 3-6mb, but Frame is limited to 1500K. Switching to ATM circuitry will get me speed, but there are saying I will be down for 10 working days?!
Holy smokes, can someone tell me why it takes two weeks to move a pair of wires? I suppose the monopoly known as Verizon can do whatever it wants. Really was just curious to know if this is complicated or time consuming. |

Funny how 2 weeks without high speed web access sounds worse than a root canal. I might actually have to talk to the wife and walk the dog. ![]() |

I've got dial up at home, don't know why I even bother.

DSL performance is related to distance from the POP (point of presence) and Cable performance is related to load on the local segment. I've had both and in my area DSL is more reliable, albeit slightly slower than Cable.
