beat by an suv!!!

just finished a stoplight race with the Cayenne turbo he got me by 2 carlengths in 2 city blocks I think he was a little surprised that my 1985 row Carrerra almost kept up to him. He turned off (or chickened out) before the nice sweeping 90 degree curve........ anyone else compared their car in this manner?

your Carerra didn't almost keep up with him... cause his Loud Pedal probably wasn't floored completely.

She was toying with you; she'd have wiped the street with you all the way through the sweeper as well.

a Cayenne Turbo can smoke most older 911's with ease, in a straight line.. and in the twisties...
it's been done before on the track.
it has 4WD , bigger tires, more HP and has buckets more Torque
and the torque is on @ 2250 RPM

so unless your Carerra has some seeeeerious engine modifications ... it would be unable to keep up with a Cayenne Turbo

A standard Cayenne Turbo is supposed to do 0-62 mph in 5.6 secs. A Euro Carrera 3.2 is 5.8 secs. So not that big a difference.

Unless you're an extremely skilled 911 pilot, he would have beat you thru the sweeper as well ..... probably with one hand on the wheel and the other adjusting the climate control. Modern technology is a wonderful thing.

When a stock SUV outruns your Porsche...it is time to add some HP or lighten up...or both.

If you want to drag race at stop lights...
Get a Camaro
A few tatoos
Maybe a handgun

Isn't the Cayenne Turbo available with 3 hp levels, 450 base, 520 option, and an even higher option like 550, depending on how much you want to spend? I read that it was or was going to be available like that, although I am probably wrong on the exact numbers. Either way, a Cayenne with with 550 is gunna be f-a-s-t!

So an SUV beat you. It was still a Porsche. Be proud to say you got beat by a Porsche. I tried once to keep up with an Infinity G35 and thing is just fast. But I paid 1/3 of the cost for my P-car and I feel 10 times better in my car than he does. Its just a thing and it happens. Be glad you didn't get beat by a Ford Pinto.

CreatureCat,
Try to develope some maturity and class that comes with owning a fine German automobile, and save the drag racing for the strip. In other words...Grow up!

I think there is a powerkit in other markets, but in North America there is only the base 444hp available. With that said, a simple ECU upgrade can net over 500hp at the crank without any internal or turbocharger modifications

stoplight racing is dumb. Go do a DE and you'll never care about it again.

It's amazing how emotional 911 owners become about not being as fast as other cars - particularly the dreaded (and feared by some on this board ) Cayenne! Going fast is a game that can't be won. There will always be somebody faster. I buy 911's because they're FUN to drive. I've driven many cars - some faster, some better handling - but I've yet to find one with the fun-factor of the 911. Only a motorcycle can top a 911 for fun.
