Rolling Stones Coming to Vegas

Yep the Rolling Stones are playing Vegas on November 11th at the MGM. Would ya ever have guessed you'd see the day.

The last time I saw the Rolling Stones was back in the Summer of 72 at the LA Forum. I got LUCKY and got a 3rd Row Loge seat just off the corner of the stage...all for $7.13.

Well this time I signed on but its gona cost me a bit more....lets try $495.00...and this time I'll be a bit further up just off the corner of the stage, it looks like it might be a good seat...that is if I'm sitting right behind a post..

But thats a normal price for a Stones concert the MGM. Try justifing that ticket price at the Joint in the Hard Rock. The Stones always charge that much for a vegas show.

Yeah, but they can still rock 'n roll ! I rarely attend anything larger than 'club shows' anymore, but my g/f & I caught them last fall at Duke's small stadium. Her last time seeing them was in '69 in a small ballroom in Detriot....needless to say, the stage has grown just a bit since then....

I'd love to see them play a small room. However the MGM Garden Arena is 16,000 people., which is a small venue for them now. The week after they play LV they are gona play Dodger Staudium in LA. I would never go to see them in that large of a venue.

I saw them in 1981, and again in the early 1990's, both at large, outdoor arenas. They were not nearly as good 10 years later, IMHO. Indeed I was quite disappointed the second time, just my experience.

The 72 Show was FANTASTIC..they still had Mick Taylor on Guitar playing off Keith. The songs were still fresh... BUT the 69 Tour was the BEST and its bin downhill since then. On that tour they snarled and played like they meant it.

They went from writing Memo For Turner to Dancing With Mr D...

I wouldn't go to an Arena show...too impersonal

Poker aqquaintence (Professional Jazz Musican) of mine saw them backstage at the Mandalay Bay earlier this year and said Keith was playing better than he had in years.
