Interesting way to steal land

Ok, Pat and CC and others have been saying that Israel is only trying to steal land. Well now I am confused by the latest tactic.

Handovers to begin Wednesday
In Jerusalem, the Israeli army said it planned to begin handing over some captured positions on Wednesday and hoped to complete the withdrawal from Lebanon by next week.

Giving back the land does not seem to fit in the whole "stealing land" theme. So the question is, "IF Israel is the big bad aggressor and trying to steal more land, why would they start a withdrawal two days after the cease fire?" Surely they could draw this thing out indefinitely, no?

Waiting to see the latest anti-Israel/US gov spewage......

the fact that Israel exists where it is is the "theft" of the land that "palestinians" and their apologists point to. No matter what Israel gives up, its existance is based on the dividing of land that was "illegal" in the first place.

They really aren't too hard to understand.

Are you being serious, dude? Jesus, it's getting desperate over in neocon land.

Moneyguy1 08-15-2006 09:48 AM

Palestinian: (N), poster child utilized to keep the Middle East in turmoil.

Actually, one would think after nearly 60 years those "displaced" (three generations ago) would have been assimilated SOMEWHERE.

Hey,
How about we do this: Move Israel to a 50 mile wide strip of land between the US and Mexico. They could get out of the way of the constant Arab attacks and deal with the illegals coming across the border better than our pathetic govt. seems to want to do.

If that question was for me, you really don't remember Pat and other ranting about how this was a typical Israeli move to steal more arab lands ect? It was not that long ago....

My other less obvious point was that the Israeli gov seems to be showing willingness to use diplomacy now that they feel that they have achieved their stated goal to make the boarder somewhat safer from rocket attacks. Anyone believe that if Hezbollah was invading Israel they would agree to a cease fire and withdraw with the same speed?

Israel is doing exactly what it said it would do.

First, the Israeli's were well and truly thrashed by Hizbollah and couldn't steal much land in this attempted invasion and occupation, so that's the answer to the immediate question.

Second, the Israeli's are busily stealing Palestinian land in the West Bank via the illegal settlements, being built almost exclusively with money handed over fromt he US government with no strings attached (state governments here would love such an arrangement), and the construction of the security wall, all on Palestinian land, and itself being constructed almost exclusively with US government provided funds.

Last, Israel has destroyed much of the infrastructure in Gaza, cut off water supplies which they've craftily constructed to be the only water available in Gaza, bombing any attempts by Gazans to build their own. Israel is a terrorist state, without question.

So, the threft of land continues unabated, while you're focused on Lebanon.

Good work.

Something to keep in mind is that BOTH sides are culpable. Blame is owned by the Allies from WWI, from zionists and their terror campaign from 1918? until Israeli statehood, and from Arab extremists and their terror campaigns from 1918? on.

I still firmly believe that if England, France, and USA had kept their word to The Arab Leaders to provide a United Arab State after The Ottoman Turks were defeated then we would not have the horrible situation we find ourselves in today. Of course, we would not have been able to create an Israel either.

It would not matter. We would still be the great Satan, there would still be Jews somewhere. Biggest difference in your scenario would be that there would be barren desert there still, just like before Israel was created.

Your graphic is irelevant. It does not matter how many countries, most not arab at all, you depict. Theft of land at gunpoint by country created initially by the western europe as a dumping ground for jews is still wrong.

What it was or was not isn't relevant either. It's pretty hard to compare agricultural practices prior to the advent of modern irrigation methods with those practiced in the 19th century in any case.

Try asking a serious question, for a change.

Is it an effort to continually annoy the hell out of us? Or does it just come naturally?

Just seems like one angry SOB to me... ;) But somewhat entertaining if you think about it.

In your case, it appears natural.
