Manheim auction questions
A semi-local dealer may be purchasing a car for me at Manheim and I am wondering if there is a way to check the price they paid? I realize they need to make a profit BUT it would be nice to know how much wiggle room i have.
is there a typical % a dealer would want to make on a late model ('05) car that will be certified? Thanks, Erik

Not really.
If you can get access to their site (www.manheim.com), you can peruse the post-sale lists and try to find your vehicle. I can't recommend doing that. How much is marked-up depends on the vehicle. An '05 7 series? Figure about $7k. An '05 Camry might be more along the lines of $2k-$3k. Carnutzzz Product Development Manager Manheim |

I have access to the site. If you give me the make and model I can get an average for that vehicle based on mileage and condition. There is no way to tell the exact price they paid.

thanks guys. i am definitely not trying to beat the dealer down to a $500 profit; i just have no idea what wholesale is on the vehicles we are looking at.
We are looking for a low miles '05 V70 2.5t. The dealer will be running the car through the Volvo certified program. I honestly think they are looking to gain a lifelong customer and not just a one time profit on the car.
