love the one with the girl who would rather get a beating. are they trying to say something about smokers? must be a very dedicated bunch. i wonder how that would be received now in an american magazine.

I recall the line being "I'd rather fight than switch". I think it was for for Benson & Hedges.

It was a continuation of that ad campaign. I had to look it up by the slogan.

Those ads crack me up. "Guard against throat scratch"...LOL. Wish I could read the "Here's how to smoke all you want"...anyone have a bigger pic? Hard to believe that anybody bought this schlock advertising back then. Then again, most ads today are schlock too. :D

I had no idea that Ronnie, who is actually one of my political heroes, did ads like that. Nobody's perfect...

Yeah, I've seen a bunch of RR ads: one where he's having a smoke after pitching in a baseball game and says something like "...and my chest doesn't hurt," or something to that effect. LOL!

It's interesting to see Pall Mall ads featuring armed forces personnel. My father was a career soldier and smoked Pall Mall and died of lung cancer. Think there's a connection?

My friend has an old video tape of vintage TV commercials, one of them is the Flintstones selling cigarettes... Fred and Barny toking down on cigs the size of their head... hilarious!

We're still buying stuff that is slowly killing us... the more things change the more they stay the same.

I remember those!

We once had a cel from one of those Flintstone/cig. ads. It's worth about a lung transplant. :D
