Weird E-mail Message
When I got home yesterday I checked my home e-mail. I had a bunch of identical e-mails in my inbox. When I looked at them, they were all the same. Someone was trying to register at www.msds.com and had used my e-mail address for their confirmation. Once the e-mail was recieved, the person was supposed to click on the link to complete their registration.
Since www.MSDS.com is a legitimate website for hazardous materials, I figure someone mistyped their e-mail address (though mine is quite unique), but 6 times! |
Sounds like a crawler/worm issue.
|
Can you explain further?
I don't know what you're talking about. |
Think about it. Someone that thick is trying to handle hazmat.
It's nature weeding out the stupid again. |
some automated piece of code, a "bot" that tries things with certain websites, tries to hack by brute force and what not...
even a unique email adress , will eventually be found by a bot that just runs combinations .... aaaaa aaaab aaaac aaaad ..... abaaa abaab abaac etc etc |
Well, I just deleted the e-mails. All of the had the same username and password ("mrpoopypants").
|
Did you follow the link and try logging in as the user?
Might be interestign to see what you find out. |
mrpoopypants?!?!?!
oh, never mind. Nothing to see. Ignore that helicopter outside...it's just a news chopper. |
