I'm an equal opportunity car guy, straight line, corners, foreign, domestic, mustang, camaro, whatever. As long as it's got something going for it... Anyway, so far (haven't seen one in person), I think the retro camaro is ugly, and the new mopar is pretty hot looking.
The mustang looks/ed pretty good as far as retro goes, but I've already gotten really, really bored with it's design. Too many of them around. |
The new Charger is butt-ass ugly.

I think the best looking modern 'retro' car was the one that started it all - the Mazda Miata. Second best would have to be the new Mustang.
'Retro' is the in thing these days - look at this list of retro cars that were produced recently: - VW New Beetle - Audi TT - Chrysler PT Cruiser - Mini Cooper - Honda S2000 - Toyota FJ Cruiser - Pontiac GTO (Yes - it is retro - not in name alone - consider how much the original GTO looked like a plain family sedan...) - Plymouth Prowler - Chevy HHR - Chevy SSR - Ford Mustang - Dodge Magnum / Charger & Chrysler 300 - Porsche Boxster - BMW Z8 - Dodge Challenger (coming soon) - Chevy Camaro (coming soon) In one way or another, all of the cars above are retro. Some are 'flash in the pan' cars, while others are longer-lasting. I think what the automakers are doing is capitalizing on the 'dreams of youth' mentality - today's buyers like these cars since they harken back to their simpler days of youth. My dad had a 'Cuda, and I wouldn't mind a modern interpretation of the car. As long as it has a Hemi in it! :D -Z-man. |
The 425 hp 6.1L Hemi (SRT8 models) is quite a motor, and sounds great. I can't wait to drive one in the Challenger. Wish they offered it in a lighter-weight car.
