Another Lost Enzo (But at least a Ruf "won")
I find it a little surprising that law enforcement in some western states actually closes public highways for speed events. These guys were going for a top speed run, with a radar officer "citing" them, and the proceeds from the "fine" going to charity. Sounds like fun, but it cost one guy his Enzo. Now they are contemplating whether they should do this in the future.
The link might ask you to "answer a few simple questions" before getting to the article. I did it, and it seemed pretty innocuous. I'm not the most web savy guy, so if anyone sees anything dubious about the link, let us know. http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/articles/0821WSJ-Hot-Rod-Heaven-ON.html |
I love this quote - "It's just a car." I guess. An Enzo is just a car

Slippery slope here...the closed highway thing is okay by me...because no innocent victims. Going crazy on roads not closed to the public? I have an issue with that.... |
I say if they close the roads and set up this kind of an event, let 'er rip. Same sentiments on the open public road issue, though. This is a different thing. I just wish they would do it around here. You know, European rally style. It sounds like this is just a straight test of top speed. Kinda boring, but more power to 'em.
