Nice ride... I also like the retro bullet wheels (Craiger clones?)
I thought the Boss was already out? Maybe I just saw pictures of the prototype. What kind of mileage you get on that baby? And let me be the first to say... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1156871445.jpg |
Good looking car and color.

As promised, pics of the new Mustang after a wash and wax:

Nice car!

THe new mustang rocks, great job on updating the original to make it retro, but up to date. I'm especially glad they did a couple of the classic look wheels and the driving lights in the grill. Amazing job Ford. The only problem that I have with the things is that everyone else loves them too. There are getting to be too many on the road.

Yeah, I agree masraum. I originally was going to wait a year and look at a Challenger, etc. just because there were so many Mustangs on the road. Course circumstances changed and I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on this one.
If I want to be special, I can always take my 84 911 Targa out...not too many of those on the road. |
Beautiful car. Congrats and good luck!

I would be SO tempted to put the stripes on.

Yep, stripes are good.

Strange you say? No yet...all but ONE of the 31 Mustangs was a '64(.5). '65, or a '66. Yes, he's Mustang Crazy. His new Mustang, Number 31, is a brand new GT model that he immediately turned over to Roush. After spending buckets of $$$ he had new suspension, new brakes, new body work, a new third brake light (more on this later) and most importantly, a super-charged small block under the hood. What you say? What kind of HP??? Try 435 at the wheels w/ minimal boost dialed in. The next step is the stripes Moses mentions above. The car is metallic gray so he's going with light, bright metallic silver stripes. The bottom end will be strengthened soon too. Better rods, rod bolts, etc, etc, etc...he's expecting 600+ hp at the wheels. He ran down to the XXX Drive-In with us last month. Most of the guys dropped him in the twistiest but he quickly caught them in the straights (where we drive the speed limit). Oh yeah, the third brake light...when it lights up it says "RICE EATER"! He has the stories to back this up. |

The stripes are decal kits. Easy to put on and take off.

Yeah, I have thought about the stripes too, my wife wants me to go for a more minimalist, subdued look....

Great color! Congrats on the new car.

Nice car. Congratulations. FWIW, though you drive like a grandma, I've seen a couple of these at Willow Springs, and in stock form, seem to perform well.
C&D magazine has these cars going from 0-60 in 4.9 secs. Skidpad is respectable as well. The new 'Stang is evidentially nothing like the previous model. The chassis is different, the suspension, etc. If, in the future, you do want to modify this, suspension pieces are Miata cheap $$ wise, but highly developed. I would guess you wouldn't need any additonal power, but chipped, the 4.6 V8 produces well in excess of 300 hp - something close to 350, IIRC. In L.A., five speed V8s are very hard to find - don't know about Tx. but I've only rarely seen a five speed. The best part though: get friendly with any Ford service department supervisor, and he'll tell you only suckers will pay the $35 or $40K for the Shelby (not including dealer mark up). I've had three tell me that, while servicing our Explorer/Mountaineers. |
