How do you separate the men from the boys in the Greek army?
With a crowbar.

Stefanos,
Remember the ancient greeks when soldiers were paired up, the senior one taking care of the junior one? I think this was ancient Athens at the time of Marathon and Platea. These soldiers often developed homosexual relationships. There is a stereotype based on this that portraits some greeks as homosexuals and these guys are just making fun of it, joking about anal sex and such. A crow bar is just a metal bar used to separate things, for example a lid from a wooden box. Just ignore them, and good luck in basketball.... after the sunday game, of course!!!! PS With Pau Gasol out your chances just moved up from nonexistant to very small ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Paco,
I don't bother answering to them. Who cares to answer to people who spend fortunes on "players" and they loose so easily from my small country. Maybe next time guys... Good luck winning a medal. Third place would be great for you with this team. Whoever saw the match should remember the face of the US coach who desperately tried to change plans to turn the game overwithout success. PRICELESS... Regarding the Gasol issue, you are right. You should be worried as we did when one of our best players, Zisis, was hit in the face by a Brazilian player. See ya on Sunday Anton ;-) |

Just having some fun with you Stefanos, it's all good natured.
Frankly I love the fact that the US lost. The sport has become less and less sport and more rock concert/freak show/public spectacle of gross overindulgence both on & off the court/field. A lot of pro sports has gotten this way, anytime they can be handed their asses is fine with me, should serve as a reality check.

Next time, I need to realize better when one is just kidding ;-) Lets see who'll be smiling tomorrow, Anton from Spain or Stefanos from Athens (thats me...) |

I think American teams aren't very successful in world competition because the star is more important in America than the team--because of TV. Yet, it's the team that wins. A paradox.

Well it always makes me smile whenever the NBA guys lose. Maybe it'll take some of the smirks off of their overpaid faces.
