Dells are good for PRONO, I'll have to keep that in mind.

The laughing video is awesome.

IF you search you-tube, you'll see there's a 6 minute video where the interviewer discusses the whole incident. I can't understand the language (Belgian), but in the end, it appears that this fellow's TV career came to a screeching halt after that episode. That TV show was called "Boomerang" - my best guess is that it is some type of wierd people show.

Oh man, that is funny... there's a version with subtitles available also. Search or look to the right of the clip in the related clips section.

Stijn - thanks for the clarication. (I figured there wasn't a "Belgian language, but couldn't think of what to write!)

Though a skit, it is still quite humorous.

The grape lady one was a big hit a couple of years ago. Local radio station out of Philly wouldn't stop playing it!

The grape lady interview was filmed at Chateau Elan (a winery and resort) - just off I 85 - up the road from Road Atlanta.

What? Nobody speaks Belgish?

There are more than 100 breweries in Belgium. Get started trying a few and you'll be speaking belgish in no time.

Wallonnie is the frenchspeaking part of Belgium
it's a french dialect, with only minor variations

mostly small things ,similar to Suisse french
the words

septant 70
nonant 80

in french would be

soixant-dix 70
quatre vingt dix 90

also a less strict use of femin and masculin

le bicyclette , which would be la bicyclette in proper french

the Flemish part of the country , where i'm from
speaks mostly Dutch, with many different dialects such as "Antwerps" "West Flemish" (where i'm from " , "Ghents", "Brussels"

the Flemish dialects are all about pronounciation , it's not a real written language and it's very localized.... dutch is the official language in media, and everything else...

flemish media, such as official state tv, is actually where you'll hear the best official dutch... not even in Holland will you find the clean pronounciation as on Belgian VRT.. in holland they don't really use the official dutch in media, to the point where language awareness is greater in Belgium... who more often then not , wins interland language, and spelling contests... Belgians also in general pronoune the dutch words softer, to foreigners Dutch dutch will sound very hard..

then there is the German area of the country, which is tiny, and has very little weight... they speek German , not sure if there's much variation from proper German , i think some what , just like Austrians differe slightly from Germans

example of Belgian VRT
listen specifically to the anchorman (a female news reader would sound even softer)

this is an example of Dutch dutch, politicians speaking (who in Holland are more "posh" then in Belgium , Belgian politicians would not use the official dutch, they would have somewhat more influence of dialects ( but cleaner for clarity )
in Holland , female speakers would not be softer, just more high pitched
