Agassi (spoiler)
 

As an aging competitor, I was pulling for Agassi. But time is cruel to the body, and at some point you have to hang up your racquet/spikes/etc. Great matches, and a classy exit today.

It was nice to see him go out on a relatively high note, and he had nice words to say to the crowd. Great to see him mature from bratty flash pot to positive statesman of the game, and his embracing charity work. Kudos.

It was really exciting today, i thought he was going to be able to pull it out for awhile. It was funny, every shot from agassi was followed by a cascade of cheers, while some truly spectacular shots from becker were met with a small smattering of claps

agassi truly seemed grateful with his words to the crowd after the match

Amazing how age is relevant to the particular sport.

36 seems SO long ago........

Ahhhhh, to be 60 again! :D Indeed Kudos to Agassi...he matured enough to learn how to become a class act.

Concur with all of the above...here's to hoping there are no, "comebacks".

Yup... A few years back when I lived in Marin county, I met him (sometimes with Steffi) a few times by accident, at a burrito joint or a rockclimbing place. Even chatted once, when I thought I was not imposing too much... The guy is a real nice guy in person, even when people were annoying the **** out of him and Steffi for autographs while we was trying to eat, he was 10x more patient that I would have been ! Class act !
