Any landowners in Kentucky?
I decided to go to University of Kentucky (in Lexington, KY) for college and now I'm trying to find large-ish parcels of hand to hunt coyote on. Do any Pelicans out there have land around Lexington I could hunt on? I'll be alternating between shotgun and bow hunting, and only for coyote. Maybe red-fox if there are any around and permission is granted.
If anyone has any property and could accomodate, or knows someone who possibly could, I'd really appreciate it!

One of the Moderators on this board has knowledge of a prime parcel for coyote. It is in the public domain, so no special permission required. He has a method for attracting them, and a proven 'track record' (pardon the pun).
Perhaps he'll speak up, I wouldn't want to volunteer access to his wealth of knowledge for him.

Can you explain to me, SlowToady, why you feel the need to hunt Coyote, and what pleasures you derive from this?
Seriously. I don't get it. Could you shoot a dog? They're just wild dogs after all. Yes urbanization has turned some of them into scavengers - but is that a reason to hunt them?

Maybe the Coyote is an issue with sheep farmers...but, still, Red Foxes? What possible reason? I'm a hunter, btw.

1) It's fun
2) It's challenging 3) It's legal 4) Season is open year round, so I can go any free weekend I have, not just when the State decides to bless me with a specific time 5) Their populations need control also, just like deer and most other animals Nice try with the dog question, but, since it's a stupid, pointless question in the first place, I won't answer it. I derive the same pleasure from hunting as you derive from whatever the hell you do for fun. It's a rush, and it's something I enjoy. Don't like it? That's your problem. So, can anyone help me out, or just try to make me justify what I do for sport? Believe it or not, there are other things to hunt besides deer .

I understand hunting for food. I think that is a priviledge that comes with being on the top of the food chain. But mindlessly killing animals because "it is fun" and "a challenge" - absent some clear need to cull the population - is, in my view, pretty sick.

Dottore is on the mark...hunt for chow or to eliminate varmints (you'll know).
I am curious on #5: Which one?

How do you know that I don't donate meat or hide to those that are less fortunate? At least some constructive good can come from what I do; what good comes from you driving that over-priced steel cage you lovingly call a "911"? I'll hunt for any reason I please, as long as I remain inside the legal guidelines that surround my sport. This is America, and in America, I'm allowed to hunt for any reason that tickles my fancy, just as you are allowed to drive any car that tickles your fancy. You don't have to like or accept what I do for fun, but you should at least defend it, just as I will defend whatever you may do for sport (as long as it's legal), regardless of how I feel about it. And, both, Seahawk. Predator populations need to be controlled. That's why the hunting of them is allowed. PS: Just for cursioties sake, what exactly is "mindless killing?"

"Mindless", for example, would be trying to draw parallels between (a) owning a Porsche and (b) killing large mammals for no greater purpose than the sheer 'fun' and 'challenge' of killing them. My Zen master, who just dropped by, and to whom I showed this exchange, laughed and said "'SlowToady' is a good name for this guy. In his next life he probably will be one - and then the Coyotes will have the last laugh with him". What goes round - comes round. We are all on this planet together my friend, and you would do well to learn a little respect for the other forms of life that share this place with us.

Damn, jump the guy. I'm sure slowtoady is rethinking this sport/hobby now that you've schooled him.

Yea, my bad. I can't believe I had the audacity to draw a connection between what you do for fun, and what I do for fun. Ooops.
Your Zen Master is a pussy, and so are you. How does killing something equate to not respecting it? You are a complete *******, do you know that? You're bashing me because I hunt for fun, and then actually use (part) of what I shoot. Do you eat grains, corn, or anything like that? If so, do you harvest all of them by hand? Oh, you don't? You do realize that scores of small animals are killed during every harvest in which combines or other farm equipment is used? And that they die worse deaths, via crushed bones and bleeding internals, than any animal I ever shoot? Before you lecture me about hunting animals, why don't you stop and think about that. While you're *****ing about what I do, you contribute to the horrific death of thousands of small animals every year, and you don't even use anything from them. I happen to have a great respect for every animal, except you, and whether or not I hunt them does not diminish that. If anything, it only serves to strengthen it. If you don't have anything useful to contribute, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop ****ting on my thread.

Well Toad I just clicked on the website that is part of your avatar (www.fakelife.com) and its now clear to me that we are on different wave lengths.
I thought your first piece entitled "Why I want to become a womanizing, slutty, giant, walking erection" lacked a certain sensitivity. The I had a look at your "women". Finally I checked out your thoughts in "Self mutilation as a means of positive reinforcement." I'm out of here.

Yea, God forbid anyone write satire or out of alter-ego. I realize you're no genius, but the very name of the site, FAKE LIFE, should give something away....
Now, back to the real reason for starting this thread. Does anyone have any land they would be so kind as to allow me to hunt predators on? If you would rather not be associated with this thread and "mindless killing" you can PM or email me.

I know of some land where you can kill coyotes, as long as you eat every last one of them.
See, if you eat what you kill then no one can say that you are a backwardass nutcase that gets off on killing just for the fun of it. |

![]() We have a feral hog problem down here and you can't eat all of them because some of them have a very nasty wasting disease. Should they be permitted to live since they are not edible? Run that through the Zen checklist........funny how the most famous practioners of Zen were big on not killing furry animals, but had no problems decapitating disrepectful peasants with a katana.....lol
