Govt seeks to purge liberal teachers from schools!
Course you know its not here in the US, where it needs to be done badly.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060905/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iran_university_purge TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Tuesday for a purge of liberal and secular teachers from the country's universities, urging students to return to 1980s-style radicalism. "Today, students should shout at the president and ask why liberal and secular university lecturers are present in the universities," the official Islamic Republic News Agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying during a meeting with a group of students. Ahmadinejad complained that reforms in the country's universities were difficult to accomplish and that the educational system had been affected by secularism for the last 150 years. But, he added: "Such a change has begun." The president, in his role as head of the country's Council of Cultural Revolution, does have the authority to make such changes. But his comments Tuesday seemed designed more to encourage hard-line students to begin a pressure campaign on their own, thus forcing universities to oust the teachers. Iran retired dozens of liberal university professors and teachers earlier this year. And last November, Ahmadinejad's administration for the first time named a cleric to head the country's oldest institution of higher education, Tehran University, despite protests by students. Ahmadinejad is widely believed to need to jockey between various interest groups in Iran, at a time when hard-liners increasingly control more of the top rungs of government but still encounter resistance from parts of the public at large. Moderates also still remain in the government. But Tuesday's comments seemed to follow a campaign promise by Ahmadinejad to develop a more Islamic-oriented country. Since taking office last August, he has also replaced pragmatic veterans in the government with former military commanders and inexperienced religious hard-liners. Ahmadinejad's aim appears to be installing a new generation of rulers who will revive the fundamentalist goals pursued in the 1980s under the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, father of the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran. Shortly after the revolution, Iran fired hundreds of liberal and leftist university teachers and expelled numerous students.

Amazing how one-sided thinking clouds ones mind. Balance, man....balance.
A caution to both extreme ends of the political spectrum.... Be careful what you wish for...........

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, Joe is on the side of the terrorists. If only we could be more like the people we hate, the more effective we could be in stopping them, right Joe?!#!#$%@ And here I thought the idea of "we hate in others only what we hate in ourselves" was just rhetorical nonsense... Thanks for brightening up my day, dude, you're freakin' hilarious!

I don't want to be identified with any "side" (except for when Supe is saving the world, you understand, image and all): RANT BEGINS
The real issue I have is with trying to "purge" a thought process from a system. In The US we have a little document guaranteeing freedom of speech, thought, etal. Finding a group of people to silence or remove from society is anathema to our system of beliefs and government. If individuals choose to only listen to one way of thought, that is their choice and they have EVERY right to it. When Government censors The People's right to think, talk, act then we have become the same style of Government as China, Soviet Russia, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, etc. Does anyone remember why The Colonies revolted against The Government in the first place? I mean the real reasons behind The Colonial Revolts? Remember, after The Revolt, the US was occupied by French troops for more than 20 years to help stabilize The Government. We have existed for more than 200 years on our own two, wobbly feet and are still standing. One reason we are still standing is the joint belief in the rights of the individual over the rights of the state. Both Conservative and Liberal forces have taken chunks away from The Rights of The Common Man. Either side calling foul or pointing fingers does nothing more than further weaken our country, IMHO. Answers? Both sides need to work together (remember, we USED to do that when BOTH parties had Liberal and Conservative wings but similar ECONOMIC and GLOBAL goals to the parties). We need to re-learn to play well together and tackle problems head on. Iraq will take 10 to 20 years. Get over it. If we are truly at war, why is Government (Conservatives? in power now) trying to downsize The Military? AGAIN!!! Why have we been arguing for more than 100 years over immigration reform and STILL have nothing comprehensive on the radar screen? Why are our citizens not required to SERVE this Great Country before they go out to make money in it? Mad? Yes, quite, thank you very much!!! I have to go to work now so I'll stop. RANT OVER. Go back to killing each other...

Hmmm, if Joe is on the side of the terrorists, doesn't that make him a liberal? Damn...politics is soooo confusing!

Sometimes I'm Not the clearest in conversation myself. The point being that the future starts in the school system. The US system is the biggest gangster scam on the gov't to date imo.
Total expense paid [$ & bennys] $85k /180days = $472/day It's no biggie for this elementary school teach to snag another $15k in OT. [not including OT 35-40% bennys] $100k /180days = $555/day And bonus coupons is that the kids don't learn anything to prepare them. anybody want to babysit for $472 @ 6hrs/day

![]() Liberals are Americans ... like all other Americans, they want America to succeed. Most people in America now understand that George Bush is not the leader that has the capacity to lead America to success. Not everything is about political advantage, no matter what Karl Rove taught you. Some things are about the common good. My opposition to this administration has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with America.

If teaching is such a lucrative, easy gig, then why aren't people falling all over themselves to get into it?

not enough $, too political, or too stupid to go to 3rd tier college. NYC will pay sign on bonus and may provide apt if you know the game.
you ever hang with a pile of teachers? It's more incestuous and political than working at a hospital. Although the midnight shift is suit staff free and plenty of rooms to play bang bang. btw.. nurses are the best

I've got to hand it to you Ron, that was a great diversion from Joe's idiocy.
Back on topic. One day back on the board and Joe crystallizes everything that is wrong with the Right in this country and how they are the true traitors to the founding father's ideals via The Constitution and Bill of Rights. hey Joe, you'll feel right at home with your Mullah friends in Iran, or maybe totalitarianism is more your speed in China. Either way, get the fuk out of our country and stop trying to destroy with your Islamofascist subversive ideals. you fly a plane, just get out now. ![]() |

What a strange disection of Joes' post. At first I thought you guys were just knowingly twisting it to take a cheap jab at Joe. Now I see you really don't get the point.
Interesting.
