Leftist vows to create separate gov't
AP - 2 hours, 25 minutes ago
MEXICO CITY - Defeated leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador rejected a court decision awarding Mexico's presidency to Felipe Calderon, insisting he will never recognize his rival's legitimacy and vowing to create a parallel government from the streets. Calderon celebrated his long-delayed victory by reaching out to the millions of Mexicans who did not vote for him and calling on his main adversaries, including Lopez Obrador, to help heal the nation's divisions.

In a country marred with poverty and corruption the way Mexico is, _any_ kind of change is a welcome change IMO.

Great, if civil unrest breaks out then more illegals will come pouring across the border and they'll be able to use the word "refugee", entitling them to amnesty hearings and further clogging up INS resources.

Let's just invade and get it over with already. I think they even have some oil down there.

LOL! I guess Mexico is using our Y2K election as an example of how to "heal the nation's divisions."

You'd think that 10,000,000 absentee ballots would have put that leftist guy over the top. Who was running that election Jimmy Carter or Katherine Harris?

The dignified thing for that guy to do would be to grow a beard, gain 50 lbs and start preaching about global warming.

No, they have LOTS of oil down there.

Actually this is quite familiar to our own recent elections, except Mexico has a way of confirming a recount.

Many, if not most, of our electronic ballot machines have no paper trails for voting confirmation(by design), use old and easily breakable encription(by design), have an easy master-key card access to the results(by design), the polling rules allow workers to store them unsupervised overnight(by design), etc, etc....

Thank Diebold ballot manufacturing, the other major three, a chain of broken governmental checks-and-balances.
....oh yeah, and (mostly) republican supporters of the new-age version of "democracy".

Mexico is where we used to be, but it's so much easier now for fraudulent voting with the new advances in technology.
Ain't progress grand :D World leaders by example all the way.
