Ok, who watched "The Path to 9/11" on ABC last night?
I wasn't planning on watching any of the 9/11 shows, but after all the publicity about the ABC one, I just had to tune in. It was actually well done (at least the first part), I won't comment on the "truthfulness" of the story as presented, let's just say I can see why Clinton didn't want it to air.
Funny how Clinton making such a big deal about it probably made more people tune in...any publicity is good publicity, right? Edit: It sounds like tonight's episode is about the Bush admin prior to 9/11. The Clinton camp is already complaining that ABC didn't stick to the facts, we'll see how the Bush camp reacts after tonight...

I didn't watch, so will rely on your reviews. But I find it ironic...I mean, Clinton complaining about lies? I guess is all depends on what "is" is...right???

I worked on it, and it is pretty similar to what we originally shot. The disclaimers were new, and a Madeline Albright scene was deleted. Lots changes in the edit room from what was originally shot. I do know for a fact, that the documentation used to support the "Dramatization" was very, very well researched. Sure they combined different timelines and individual events, like putting Sandy Burger and George Tenant in the same room together on a cell phone call to the CIA hit men, when in fact they were on speaker phones in their own offices. But it doesn't change the outcome, but for Burger to say "That scene is a total fabrication, I was never in George Tenant's office on a cell phone call to CIA operatives" and say its a total fabrication is nothing but misdirection.

I started watching this sometime after the first hour. The sequencing of events and people reminds me of Ghost Wars by Steve Coll, NY Times, 2005 Pullizer Prize for non-fiction. As a matter of fact, I will have to check the credits tonight and see if there is any reference.
If there is a connection between the book and the series, then tonight will be just as damning of Bush as it was of Clinton. Steve Coll pulled no punches that 9/11 was a failure of politics and intelligence starting with Carter and ending tragically with W Bush.

It portrays the Clinton Administration as a bunch of sniveling little *******s with no hair on their balls, that are afraid of their own shadows. Yep that sounds about right to me...
