Scariest thing I've read in a long time...

This sounds so much like "Wesley Mouch" from "Atlas Shrugged" that it's scary...

I'm not scared at all. The only ones affected by this will be the liberals holding one of their "peacefull demonstrations."

bryanthompson 09-13-2006 09:11 AM

i don't see a problem with it... we shoot rubber bullets and pepper spray grenades, how is this different?

dhoward 09-13-2006 09:14 AM

...but if a rubber bullet is shot at a liberal, wil it topple them as quickly as a lead bullet?

nostatic 09-13-2006 09:16 AM

maybe they should test them on the joint chiefs and congress...those are pretty unruly mobs.

Hmm, I think some extensive lab testing is required on that one.

Jims5543 09-13-2006 09:18 AM

It might come in handy the next time the streets are filled with illegal aliens protesting. That would be a great time to test it.

"If we're not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation," said Wynne.

God's own idiot.

Nathans_Dad 09-13-2006 09:26 AM

Gotta agree with Moses. When was the last time we used a tomahawk missile against our own citizens?

bryanthompson 09-13-2006 09:26 AM

in context, his quote doesn't seem as ridiculous. He's talking about a _non_lethal_ form of crowd dispersion. If he were talking about the latest bunker buster bombs, I'd agree that it's an idiotic statement.

M.D. Holloway 09-13-2006 09:29 AM

What ever happened to good ol WMDs? How bout some tact nukes? Where did the Neutron bomb ever go? War is to kill and take - are we turning into wuzzies or what?

See what happens when the dems had 2 terms. All hell has broke loose and it will take 8 solid terms for a Republican controlled house and senate to make this right again! (Clinton should have stuck to cigar*****'n interns and left the kill'n and take'n to the folks who know best!)

Well, there may well be need for crowd suppression under many possible scenarios: flu quarantines, suspension of elections, roundups of 6-7 million American Muslims... the state must remain unassailable by the rabble.

Microwaves are proven safe. Just stick a key in the latch, turn it on full power and watch the light show. [too lazy to link to exploding hamsters]
How about coating rubber bullets with active cancer cells?

island_dude 09-13-2006 12:20 PM

Every time I have encountered Wynne, I have not been impressed. Talk about a lack of common sense. Yes they are supposed to be non-lethal, but if you are testing them, then it means that there is some doubt that they are either non-lethal, or effective.

Racerbvd 09-13-2006 12:24 PM

Most effective if they shoot them in the eye!!!

tabs 09-13-2006 12:27 PM

Total Brillance on the part of another Bureaucrat.

FOG 09-13-2006 12:31 PM

The uniformed military calls this class of weapons (crowd control, etc.) less lethal and not non-lethal.

Most of this class can kill, they are jsut more likely to stop people without killing them.

Just put on your tin foil hat and you will be safe.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nonlethal weapons such as high-power microwave devices should be used on American citizens in crowd-control situations before being used on the battlefield, the Air Force secretary said Tuesday.

The object is basically public relations. Domestic use would make it easier to avoid questions from others about possible safety considerations, said Secretary Michael Wynne.
Is this guy crazy?
