Registered Auto Importer

I'm looking at purchasing a Canadian-spec car from Canada and importing it to the USA. It is a 1985 model year. I understand that I need to hire a Registered Importer to handle the paperwork and get it through US Customs. I can find RI's via internet search but does anybody have a referral for me or direct experience in doing this? Thanks in advance. -- Curt
