Scuderi Engine
Have any of you seen this? Interesting concept for a new internal combustion engine.

This one has Caroll Shelby involved.

More moving parts. . . Great.
Interesting idea, but honestly I don't see what it would do that couldn't be accomplished by a turbocharger. |
Reading through the website just about redlined my bull***** meter. More information about investment opportunites than technical data, and that data is at about the third grade level at best. Apparently no running prototypes, although one is scheduled to be displayed at an upcoming show. No photos of any parts, assemblies, anything. And one line from the "impact of technology" page: "One of many engine candidates for the Scuderi Split-Cycle Engine Design—a typical radial diesel airplane engine." "Typical radial diesel airplane engine"???!!! I know folks are playing with diesels in aircraft (not vey successfully the last time I looked), but I have not heard of any new radial engine production or a radial diesel of any kind. Anyway, maybe I'm too cynical, but it will be fun to watch this one.

Why would you want more rotating mass, more surface (wear, friction) area, and larger physical size?
Makes no sense to me |
