Anyone ever ship a motorcycle?
Hi,
I have a 1984 Indian Chief that I need to ship from Tenn to California. Does anyone have any experience with any shipping companies? Any recommendations? Thanks. |

I"ve heard Forward Air recommended... I believe they truck it airport to airport. No personal experience though.

A friend shipped his to Hawaii.
He custom built a wooden crate around it. It arrived just fine. |

Use Forward Air. They supply a motorcycle crate (small, medium, or large) and you supply the tie downs and locks. Very reasonable rates and good service.

used forward air multiple times...very reliable and goos service. Have also used Keyboard freight...unlike Forward air, Keyboard comes to you, picks up and puts it on a special cycle pallet. they are very efficent and fast...all they do is highend piano moving and cycles. they are not too much more than Forward air, but the benefit is they are including insurance and all the shipping ancillories. Size is not a concern with Keyboard, forward air's largest shipping container may not be large enough for that bike...measure it carefully for height, width and check.

Use Forward Air's container, safer & cheaper than building your own.

I've used Forward air and a local trucking company to get a bike from Orlando to Seattle. Forward Air is my choice. If you live in a larger city, take it to their warehouse. Very reasonable....

Back in the day when I was working in the music business, we FedEx'd a Harley overnight from their head office to Vancouver.
Probably not what you're looking for, but possible. |
