Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

This show rocks. From Aaron Sorkin, the guy behind "The West Wing." It's like a "West Wing" version of SNL behind the scenes. Amanda Peet is amazing, and Matthew Perry is excellent as the Lorne Michaels-type character. I'll bet this will be considered one of the best shows on TV soon. The pilot reruns Sunday on Bravo...

I tried it for the first half hour, then switched over to old standby Miami CSI. I thought studio 60 sucked...despite the "star" lineup... Did I go against the ratings? If so, I often do...

PWD, I heard on the radio news that your pattern was the trend - the audience was strong for the first 1/2 hour, then declined sharply. The ballroom dance show won the night (God help us all).

I thought Studio 60 was pretty good, though it was tough to believe Amanda Peet as the president of NBS - a whole TV network! What is she, 28? Anyway, Sorkin has some awesome talent. I'd watch anything he writes.

I won't be back...hotter babes on "CSI". None of these shows have memorable plots anyway...

How can I take Amanda Peet seriously after the window scene in "Whole 9 Yards"....?

tivo'd it, haven't seen it. The g/f put it on the list...writers like to check the stuff that's supposed to be "good".

We also watched Smith, which had some pretty serious writing problems.

Maybe it's the producers I should tap on the shoulder, not the writers. Just a personal taste thing, but I quickly tune out hour long shows that don't have a conclusion at the end of the show...far as I'm concerned, no conclusion means night time soap. I don't like soaps, no matter what time they are broadcast. But like I said, most of it is garbage anyway...just that some is tastier than others.

No...for the reason stated above. So, watched it until I figured out it was a serial...dropped it like a hot potato. You see, I might watch when there is nothing else happening, but I never want to bother to TIVO or tape a show when I'm doing something else. I just don't care enough about TV to do that for anything other than a race or a ballgame. (edit) Trying to further explain. Say I thought "24" was a good show. Good actors, nice plot, whatever. But hey, I may sit down to watch the tube one or two Wednesdays (or any other) night per month. So, not seeing the show for a couple of weeks, I've missed enough of the story line to lose interest. Not that I had a ton of interest anyway. That make sense to you?

24 is about the best thing going on TV. It's like life: there never is resolution. Until you die. Or get shot in the leg just above the knee to get you to talk.

Nostatic? Maybe so, but I'd rather live my own life on my terms than watch fictional ones, week after week, in order to "live" vicariously. Hey...it's okay. I know I'm a weirdo. Nothing wrong with folks who do like serials...I'm just not one of'em. But generally speaking, I'd rather waste time here than watch TV...this is better entertainment because it isn't scripted.
