How about a place to post resumes?

Folks,

I know there are many, many places to post our resumes online, but would there be any interest in posting them here on the PelicanParts site so that we could try to help each other? It seems we have alot in common and I thought that our senss of community could be put to use in this way. Any interest?

Like I'd trust you guys with my personal information. :p

Hey, with all of these "accidental disclosures" of personally identifiable data, there isn't any "personal information"!

Instead of a place to post resumes, I suggest a job board forum. People can post if they know of open positions and people that are seeking can post if they are looking for something. Then let the parties connect and exchange information.

Don,
Good idea. It seems that we have a large range of businesses represented by the PelicanParts members and careers/opportunities available would be very useful.

In all seriousness this is a decent idea but (obviously) there are some tremendous risks for the information to be misused or accessed by those with less-than-honorable intentions. I'd love to know what some of the other people do and I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way. Plus the obvious opportunity for networking and what-not is a great resource potentially.

I just have some real privacy concerns about this.

Ummm, there's really nothing on a resume that cannot be found online via whitepages, reverse lookup, google search, etc. Plus people do it all the time on Monster...

Interesting idea, but would you hire anyone who had a post count over 1000? ;)

I've been very careful about what I post online. While I trust most of the people who post here and feel there is high level of respect and kinship, I don't trust the trolls. There are a few people who know things about me. I have bought and sold cars on this forum, bought and sold parts, and met fellow members at various places.

No way....I retired at the age of 52 and I'm stayin' that way...No job offers considered here!!!!!!!! Work is over-rated...
