Williams F1 races M5 on 5th Gear

Here's the video with Tiff driving the F1 car and Vicki in the M5. It's a long video, over 15 min, but really cool and well worth the wait, IMO.

Yep, I got goose bumps when he passed the M5 and I heard it through the headphones. I can't even imagine what it was like for her. It must have been something since the quake caused by him passing caused the camera inside her M5 to lose it's focus.

Yea, Vicki rocks. She's a damn sexy woman. A Tom boy, but still a woman.

Besides VBH and the F1 car the info about the fitness and workouts of the F1 drivers was really interesting. It was also pretty funny seeing Tiff trying to find a seat that he fit into. I'm afraid that even my 6'2", 200#, 35" waist self would never fit.

I love what Tiff said at the end of the lap, "Un b-******-believable!"

The M5 with a V-10 that goes 200 mph. She had the thing floored at the end and he walked away like she was standing still. It's hard to fathom how fast they are when you watch a track full of F1 cars since they are all going the same speeds, but to watch that thing drive away from something as fast as an M5. Wow!

Same, the workout proccess was just as interesting to me as the actual on track driving.

No doubt the M5 is an amazing car, but the video really brings home how much of a fat pig BMW has let their flagship sedan become.

Are you serious or kidding?

Isn't an M5 supposed to be a big luxurious cruiser with prodigious power?? The type of thing that a CEO would take his buddies to lunch in and show off a bit at how fast his luxury barge is. Similar to the Big AMG sedans. I think they save the light weight sports car thing for the M3 and M coupe/roadster. I don't think the M5 has ever been a featherweight sports car, but it is a hugely powerful thing with a V-10 that's capable of 200mph.

Amazing what a little research will do. Turns out the difference between a '91 e34 M5 and a 2006 e60 M5 is only 200 pounds. I guess you're right that they've never been exactly svelte.

Not true for the M3. In the same 15 years, it's put on amazing 550 pounds!

I just checked, it weighs 4000# which is pretty good for that sort of car considering the 911 weighs over 3000#s.

To be honest, even a FF or DSR will smoke pretty much every street car. The first time that you drive one (a FF in my case) you will be just floored by the level of grip and braking. Move up a step or two to FA or CSR and there isn't a street car around that could touch it's performance.

An F1 car on the other hand, is just off the scale.

Yes, I'd love to some day drive a FF or something like that. I can't even begin to imagine the experience of being in an F1 car.
