National Museum Of The Marine Corps
A Monument to Honor, Courage and Commitment...
Currently under construction and scheduled to open in November 2006, the National Museum of the Marine Corps will be a lasting tribute to U.S. Marines -- past, present and future. I wonder if they'll let Navy Corpsmen visit there? I think my next-door neighbor has worked on this project. His company designs and builds museum exhibits and facilities and he's done the Caterpillar Museum, Automotive Hall of Fame, Center of Science and Industry, etc...

I'd be surprised if there wasn't an entire section dedicated to Corpsmen. The building design itself is based on the image of the flag raising on Mt. Suribachi. The 6 man team included 5 Marines and John "Doc" Bradley, a Navy Corpsman. But I'm sure you already knew that.  The Flag Raisers edit: Along with what David says below, there are many Marines who owe their lives to the bravery and dedication of Corpmen. They continue to be an extremely vital part of the Marine family. Randy

That will be a must visit! Corpsman are every bit of a Marine as Marines themselves. Thanks Devildog, David
