It's official -- terrorism threat greater today than 5 years ago

We've made more terrorists in the last 5 years than we have eliminated, according to the US Government intelligence estimate.

When you are losing, and we are losing, stay the course should not be an option.

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terror Threat

By MARK MAZZETTI
WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 — A stark assessment of terrorism trends by American intelligence agencies has found that the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks.

The classified National Intelligence Estimate attributes a more direct role to the Iraq war in fueling radicalism than that presented either in recent White House documents or in a report released Wednesday by the House Intelligence Committee, according to several officials in Washington involved in preparing the assessment or who have read the final document.

The intelligence estimate, completed in April, is the first formal appraisal of global terrorism by United States intelligence agencies since the Iraq war began, and represents a consensus view of the 16 disparate spy services inside government. Titled “Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States,’’ it asserts that Islamic radicalism, rather than being in retreat, has metastasized and spread across the globe.

Only a liberal traitor would say that. By posting that link you are directly providing aid and comfort to the terrorists.

Stained blue dress! Stained blue dress! Stained blue dress!

You are correct, but to be a bit more precise...only a liberal traitor would release classified information during wartime. I'm sad that you find it so refreshing or funny..whichever is the case.

What a crazy world it is when our friends and neighbors post support for murderous terrorists on bulletin boards.

Moneyguy1 09-24-2006 11:50 AM

And when others show irrational loyalty to specific causes, even when those causes are at least eligible for reasonable debate without having to stoop to "Traitorous!!" or other labels at every opportunity.

Please re-read this thread to date and see just who is tossing out guilt.

Predictable, partisan and boring.

Rodeo 09-24-2006 11:52 AM

This is how screwed up some people are.

They call the combined United States intelligence agencies traitors because they report that there are more terrorists today than five years ago, at the SAME TIME they send our men and women to die for the terrorists running Iraq.

George Bush's America. You can't make this stuff up.

Oh, it's weirder than that.

How the same people call intelligence assessments "traitorous" and the exposure of an 18-year CIA veteran and her 'cover employer' and (potentially) her field operatives 'not traitorous' is a real conundrum.

Rodeo 09-24-2006 12:07 PM

Another traitor, fint! Go get 'em!!!!

Senator Arlen Specter, the Pennsylvania Republican who is chairman of the Judiciary Committee, said that “my feeling is the war in Iraq has intensified Islamic fundamentalism and radicalism.”

Of course you know that is a gross misrepresentation (as usual) and no one did as you posted. You should be a member of the mass media yourself with your penchant for lying. The people that released classified information are the ones that are traitors...and the press that further disclosed it to the world.

Rodeo 09-24-2006 12:12 PM

The NIE (you know what that is fint) concluded that the war in Iraq has increased Islamic radicalism.

If you have contradictory facts, another version of the NIE perhaps, post them.

Since the "exposure of the 18-year CIA veteran" was done by an anti-war proponent...You may be correct...that it was a traitorous act...to damage the administration.

I have no doubt it is true. Common sense dictates that any attack on a middle eastern country (except Israel) would do that....Whether it was Afghanistan...or randomly lobbing missiles into previously evacuated terrorist camps (although the bad guys got a good laugh out of that one).

Rodeo 09-24-2006 12:21 PM

So why you calling me a traitor for posting a link to the NIE?

Just practicing?

You are mistaking me with Nostatic. He called you a traitor for posting the article..

Rodeo 09-24-2006 12:29 PM

Ok, so you concede that Iraq has created more terrorists than it has elminated.

What's your plan to turn this around?

Porsche-O-Phile 09-24-2006 12:30 PM

The greatest traitor to liberty is the one without the courage or ability to stand up against a corrupt, tyrranical and misguided government and demand accountability, justice and vision.

Expected response: "Baaaaaaaaaaaaa! Baaaaaaaaaaaa! Baaaaaaaaaaa! Clinton's fault! Baaaaaaaaaaa!"

Rodeo 09-24-2006 12:33 PM

Here's another data point for you fint. Tell us the admin's plan to stop creating more terrorists than it kills:

More recently, the Council on Global Terrorism, an independent research group of respected terrorism experts, assigned a grade of “D+” to United States efforts over the past five years to combat Islamic extremism. The council concluded that “there is every sign that radicalization in the Muslim world is spreading rather than shrinking.”
