Craigslist
 

I was reading an article about how the owner of Craigslist stated he did not want to sell the site because he did not need the money. My question is - 'what money'?
How does craigslist make money? - the site is free with no ads. I do not understand how it can be worth anything. Apparantly Ebay purchased 25% from one of the original designers - why?.

Please explain.

They charge for posting job listings and, since they are in every major city on the planet, and their site uses almost no bandwidth, they are making a killing.
