Now I'm -really- starting to think we have a lot of spiders. Just spotted this one eating a bee for lunch.

It was pretty cool watching it catch/stun/wrap/eat the prey.

I just ran into this one this morning out in the back yard. I literally ran face first into the thing. Talk about instant recoil. :D
I think so far the Orb Weavers are the most popular find so far.

I'll have to search through a bunch of my photos, but somewhere I have a bunch of pictures of camel spiders from over in the sandbox... They are NOT for veiwing by those with arachniphobia!!

Why did you post the picture of the brown recluse?
I was working out in my garage on wednesday, clearing out all the crap before winter and I found 4 of those things..... I had convinced myself they were just some harmless spider and despite knowing what a brown recluse looked l ike I insisted otherwise. I was happy thinking that I didn't have any brown recluse spiders. Now I have to be afraid of my garage...
I found a black widow look-alike (I forget the name of it) and about 25 or 30 big wolf spiders too. I thought this would be a nice place to live. :(
