Talking Collage football - USC

Some of you may know that I work at Exposition park in Los Angeles and the historic Olympic coliseum where USC plays football is part of that park.

I don't believe these guys, it is a five PM game and I come rolling in at seven thirty AM and they are already tailgating! Now I might expect this from the more rabid southern and eastern football fans but not from spoiled S. Cali.

Anyway it is always a surreal experience, rich white people coming out to south central (AKA "the hood") to camp out in the park and sip Chardonnay.

Yep,call me traitor...I hope Cal kicks ass today...Cannot stand the arrogance of the entire Duck program. Combine that with the bad call giving them the victory over Oklahoma, and yeah...the Ducks deserve to have one in the "L" Column...

Latest report... just heard on the police radio while walking in the hallway... "standby guys, I think we are going to have to make an example out of somebody".
Eight thirty in the morning and somebody is getting ready to get cuffed and stuffed.

I'll have to remember to bring my digi camera next time and post some pic's. Among the obligatory monster SUV's there are some pretty interesting cars out there.

One guy drives a six wheel military vehicle, I think it says Sachs on the front. Also saw a 57 Chevy Nomad that someone cut into pickup truck.

My wife went to UCLA, we went to the Rose Bowl tonight and saw UCLA kick Arizona's ass. I like it better when the games are a little closer, more exciting. I went to UMASS, so its just a spectator thing for me.

I've been going to the coliseum since I was a kid way back when the St. Louis Rams were the LA Rams, wearing purple and white, no less, with Roman Gabriel as the QB.

The coliseum is by far one of the coolest facilities in Southern California, L.A. not withstanding. Few know part of two Olympics, 1932 and 1984 were held there. What's great is the privileged of L.A. aren't afraid to go down there, particularly as USC seems to be expanding all the way to friggin' LAX, making in result a safer area.

As is, alumni rumor has USC fixing to buy the coliseum outright. Why not? They've bought everything else south of Jefferson Blvd.
