Oh yeah... 7 minutes to go

This should be a good quali. Bittersweet to have such good action at the end of the year, then have to wait 4 or 5 months to start again.

nostatic 10-06-2006 09:11 PM

I burn most of the races from tivo to dvd so I can watch them during the "dead months"

DentShop 10-06-2006 09:12 PM

quali, does that mean qualify? What are you watching :P I don't got cable lol play by play analysize please!

Kimi eeks into Q2 session. Speed doesn't make it. Times are much quicker than this morning. What a fast, flowing track.

nostatic 10-06-2006 09:33 PM

I would love to drive that track...

nostatic 10-06-2006 09:51 PM

this Schumacher kid seems to be a good driver

I think the results are good for Ferrari, terrible for Renault and even worse for Kimi, who is supposidly nursing some sort of sickness.

Ferrari front row w/ Massa on Pole. MS has a shot to take P1 back from Massa as he crossed the finish line w/ 4 seconds left in the Q3 session but chose to cool the car down and not go for it. Hell he is on the front row.

What sucks for Renault is being behind Trulli. He used to be a pattern good qualifier and slow racer holding up anyone behind him. If Renault does not get around him on the start he will hold them back.

The speed commentators made a interesting observation, MS seems to be very relaxed and confident and FA seems to be wound so tight he looks like he will explode.

Regardless, Kudos to FA for congratulating Massa on his P1 qualy.

You West coasters are lucky you get the race at 10PM Saturday which = 1 a.m. here on the East coast.

The Renaults are good starters. I don't think Trulli will hold them up much. Interesting to see how strong Bridgestone is here. Where did this come from? You would think Michelin would pull out everything they've got at this point. I'm surprised Schu was happy with 2nd and didn't go for pole on his last lap-just for the record books alone. Shows that he is extremely level-headed and is thinking smart. FM will let him first into turn one. I woulda gone for pole :)

Is/was it raining?

I guess I picked a good year to buy a DVR specifically so I can record all the F1 races! :D

nostatic 10-07-2006 09:07 AM

Rain showers ending in the morning with bright sunshine in the afternoon. High around 70F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

scottmandue 10-07-2006 09:30 AM

FA seemed to have an edge over Mikey in the wet... at least until they messed up on his tires (those ba$tards!)

Should be interesting.

GO MS!

Porsche-O-Phile 10-07-2006 09:53 AM

The Toyotas will either blow up or wreck as always. I bet Schumi gets in front of Massa at some point and Alonso has to fight Massa for second spot. Either way, Schumi will be ahead in the championship points after the race. It's going to come down to qualifying and race in Brazil.

If it rains, all bets are off and I bet Alonso takes it, but that seems pretty unlikely.

I'll be recording it and viewing Sunday afternoon at my leisure... and skipping the commercials! ;)

I'm surprised no one is talking about Massa's next season... he will still be with Ferrari and not be blocking for Mikey so he might have some pretty good finishes.

jtfreels 10-07-2006 10:29 AM

I'm predicting Schuie has slightly more fuel than Massa, so Massa will pit first, Schuie will "pass" him on the pit stops and that'll be the end of the race:)

Yeah I'm waiting to for the Kimi vs Massa battle, will be interesting.

good point. There is a reason MS didn't turn a 1:28 in Q3.

Rodeo 10-07-2006 02:14 PM

How did the Bridgestones suddenly get so dominant? Maybe part of the conspiracy to keep the title from Alonso? :)

Michael can lock the title if he wins and FA fails to score points

Wonder if you can buy DVDs with the year of quals and races?

Yes, it really is a good point.... possibly Ferrari figure that Michael will be more successful at holding back FA than Massa would be... he hasn't done so well in the past. This way its in Michaels hands and he can pass Massa after the first stint. Makes sense to me!

You can download them via bittorrent. I was out of town for the China race so I downloaded the ITV broadcast.

Not all are still available, but most are.
